Program Description
The road to Facilitator certification includes seven requirements, two of which are class electives, completing either Lean for Manufacturing, or Transactional Lean as well as the Advanced Lean course. The courses are designed to build a mix of both hard and soft skills, and are offered multiple times throughout the year.

Additional certification requirements include participation in at least three events, and having led at least two, all under the guidance of a Lean Master. In addition, a score of 70 percent or higher on the exam, Final Reports on each event, and the recommendation of a BMGI Lean Master.

Once enrolled in the system, we provide you with one of our experienced instructors to coach you through the certification process. You are also given immediate access to BMG University's 24-hour online support portal where you can download project templates and tools, view interactive lectures and take quizzes to test your knowledge at any time.

Classroom Training
You must successfully complete either Lean for Manufacturing or Transactional Lean as well complete the Lean Kaizen Workshop and Advanced Lean course.

  • Lean for Manufacturing - Lean for Manufacturing This four-day course combines lectures with model exercises to give participants the chance to experience how processes interact, and how Lean principles can affect an environment. In the classroom, participants set up their own "factories," then use simulation to produce ideal conditions that allow them to meet customer expectations for lead time, on-time delivery, and profitability. Each Lean principle is covered in detail, using real life examples and case studies from successful Lean implementations.
  • Transactional Lean - This 4-day course for individuals who want to apply the principles of Lean in a service or transactional business. Filled with simulations and classroom interaction, this class is both educational and fun for anyone wanting to learn how to reduce organizational waste. At the end of the course, you will be able to go back to your office and immediately put Lean to work in your environment. Each Lean principle is covered in detail, using real life examples and case studies.
  • Advanced Lean - A five-day course for candidates with previous Lean experience (from any industry). Students learn how to apply Lean tools to specific situations in the context a Lean Kaizen event. This class goes beyond the theory of Lean and gets right to the application so you can start solving problems from any industry. Along with interactive lectures, you'll be able to participate in many hands-on activities designed to make learning more fun and improve retention.
  • Lean Kaizen Workshop - This 3-day workshop leverages a compressed timeframe to give you a taste of what actually occurs before, during and after a Lean Kaizen Event. You'll discover how to choose, motivate and manage team members. In addition, you'll learn how to maximize and document financial results, as well as learn about BMGI's SCORE methodology, a highly-successful approach to planning, executing and evaluating Kaizen events.
